'It has been a good start' Maidenhead rower looks ahead to Rowing Championship
Double Olympic champion Helen Glover hopes the upcoming European Rowing Championships is just another stepping stone on the road to a third Olympic gold medal. Truro’s Glover kicked off the season in style with World Rowing Cup victory in Varese as part of the women’s four alongside Esme Booth, Samantha Redgrave and Rebecca Shorten. The quartet edged out fellow Brits Heidi Long, Rowan McKellar, Holly Dunford and Emily Ford for first place but the experienced Glover is not getting carried away just yet and insisted there is still plenty of work to do before Paris.

Reading badge one of 74 football clubs featured on the world's longest scarf
The world’s longest football club scarf has been created – featuring the crests of 74 teams from across the country. The 100-metre-long scarf features badges from EFL teams- including Reading- as well as Scottish Premiership sides. It is the result of more than 500 combined hours spent on design, knitting, and sewing with each club element hand-sewn by a team of specialists in Manchester. The impressive accessory was created to mark the launch of Kellogg’s Football Camps [www.kelloggsfc.com] which are being held across the UK in partnership with the EFL, Manchester City, Rangers and Celtic.
