A WOMAN, from a Stoke Poges school, was awarded an MBE award in the King’s Birthday honours list, for her contributions to women’s services.

Sardarni Navleen Kaur MBE, head of Sikh Ministry at Pioneer Secondary Academy, was recognised for her outstanding contributions to Women's Services, Interfaith Relations and Education.

Pioneer Secondary Academy is congratulating Nevleen for her “unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in promoting social harmony and empowering women in our community”.

As the Founder of Sahara Sisterhood, an organisation committed to the advancement and well-being of women, Navleen has created a safe space for women to achieve their full potential.

Through her work with Sahara Sisterhood, she has been an advocate for interfaith relations.

Navleen has also created life-changing opportunities for the students such as performing on centre stage in Trafalgar Square at the London Vaisakhi festival or reading a poem at a violence against women and girls conference in front of community leaders.

A spokesperson from the school said: “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Navleen on this well-deserved honour.

“This recognition serves as a reminder that individual efforts can create a ripple effect of positive change, transforming lives and fostering a better future for all.

“Her story reminds us that each one of us has the power to make a difference, and together, we can build a more equitable and compassionate society."

Recognising the potential for personal growth and transformation, Navleen has implemented initiatives that aim to empower students to explore their passions, develop talents, and pursue their dreams.
